Product tip (taken from a YL bulletin)
‘A few months ago, I completed training in Raindrop Technique. Needless to say, it is absolutely remarkable how this technique is. My grandad has worn discs in his neck, and has put up with pain for the past 20 years. I give him Raindrops, but due to my busy work-life schedule, I usually only have time to give him the technique every three weeks. I decided to give him his own Raindrop Technique collection to use in between my visits. My grandma puts one drop between his shoulder blades and feathers it up to his hairline. She continues this with each of the oils, and within ten minutes he is painless—lasting for around one week!’ Cassie Hawkey

More on Pain Relief: December 20th, 2008
A quick post:
Looking through the information we collected at the Queen Vic Night market, I’m startled by the number of people who have ticked ‘Pain’ as an area of concern.
I myself had one of those ‘twisting’ accidents yesterday as I was rushing. My husband had rung at 6 am (after I’d gone to bed late since I had lost track of time while writing my novel… or at least I’d turned a blind eye to time:) and he said he’d forgotten the pots. He was at the St Andrews market where we’ve had a Food Stall for so many years (organic vegetarian gluten-free and so on…) and he was in a fix. My day was already quite full since we were running a Workshop that day, an event we were creating somewhat on the fly… so there it was I turned to pick up my bag that I’d set on the ground to close the front door and…
I rang Dorothy Douglas this morning and apologised for disturbing her so early and asked for help in patching the gallbladder median using the Pain Patches. I believe the Patches and the Oils are a wonderful help, however, they do make you realize how effective it is to have these products in the hands of wonderful therapists. Dorothy and I have known each other for over twenty years, since those early days when I rang up and asked for a ten percent reduction in her fees for a Shiatsu Class. She said yes… in fact, she had to remind me of this anecdote… I’d forgotten this particular bit… having forgotten those hand-to-mouth days!
She said the gallbladder meridian was a good one to treat in ‘twisting’ accidents (please remember that I’m abbreviating our conversation). She also said that the gallbladder meridian was related to the work of ‘plotting, planning and preparing’, all of the things I’d been anxious and preoccupied with with our first season at the Queen Vic Night Market. For me to undertake the responsibility of putting together a team of highly experienced therapists in a market situation was a huge stretch.
The patching made a huge difference but there was still some difficulty when I twisted. I am planning to look after this meridian… eating lots of leafy green vegetables supports it… and there’s another story to that… eating a gross meal at a Thai restaurant… I’m so unused to that kind of battered mess with sticky gooey sauce… and not much better the day after.
It feels so great to have the time and opportunity now to regroup during this break and look after myself.
